Yes, I have the exact same problem. I cannot find anything on Microsoft web site regarding this problem. What to do? This is really annoying!!

However. I have had this problem, on and off, since I got
my wireless optical mouse. I hope some one can help us.

Re: Mouse Problem
Try turning off 'pointer precision' in the control pannel.

Right after installing SP2, I too had the same problem... I did a system res tore to just prior to installing SP2... Lo and behold, my mouse pointer is b ack to normal.. I think I'll wait till this is resolved before I try re-ins talling SP2

I had the same problem. I installed another driver for my mouse. Within th e new driver, I disabled the stick pointer on my laptop and enabled only the touchpad. This solved the problem. Hope this works for you..... Gig

[B]I had the same moving cursor symptom after installing SP2. I corrected or maske
d it by going to Control Panel - Mouse - Pointer Options - and uncheck 'Enhance
 pointer precision'[B]

After reading Philosopher Bat's posting, I thought I'd give SP2 another try. Prior to installing SP2, I had installed the mouse driver specific to my h ardware (AOpen Mouse Driver R1.32). After the SP2 install, the drifing mous e cursor problem appeared as expected. When I went to control panel to unche ck the option that Bat mentioned, it's not an option for that mouse driver. So I un-installed the mouse and it's driver, installed the generic driver, unchecked the option, and that seems to have solved or masked the drifting c ursor problem. Thanks to Philosopher Bat for his posting.
