Mobile 5 and Exchange
I have my new Dell X51v synching fine with Exchange via GPRS. I can't get it
to work on the usb cradle. How do I set the ActiveSync to get my mail when
connected internally..The error is "ActiveSync encountered network problems
or an internal server error while synchronizing. Support Code:85010016

My Toshiba e800 synched both ways fine.

Anyone any ideas

Andrew

RE: Mobile 5 and Exchange
I can only get it to work in the cradle and not over GPRS or WiFi. Confused
as to why, so not sure I can help.

I had to install the "SmartPhoneAddCert" program to make sure that the Axim
understood that my self-generated certificate was valid, but I assume you
also had to do this.

More head scratching, I fear.

RE: Mobile 5 and Exchange
Hi andrew this is for you,
when you try to sync with exchnage via GPRSit works fine, and when you
connect the same device with the DTPT to that computer which is connected to
the network mean internally.

The only problem is that you have to change the servername in the activesync
.
Because through the GPRS you have to use the public IPaddress of the server
or the FQDN nae but if you have connected the device to the computer which i
s
connected to the netwrok change the server name in the activesync settings t
o
the netbios name of the server or enter the internal IPaddress if the server
.

Thanks

Re: Mobile 5 and Exchange
Thankyou. I can do this, I know. But with the Toshiba I just sold, I did
not have to. mobile2003SE was smart enough to do it on its own.. no
changes needed.

Re: Mobile 5 and Exchange
Hi,
Did the administrator setup the FQDN to work on both the internal and
external networks? This too would resolve the issue without requiring you
to change the settings.
