| Folks,
When I try downloading software from the net, I get "Error 1324 The path My
Documents contain an invalid character.
A friend "helped" me partition drives a while ago. When I right click and
view properties of the My Doc folder, it says the target is D: which is my
CDrom drive.
When I try to change it to C: and then hit apply, it oges back to saying D:
What to do? I really need this software downloaded soon.
Thanks,
Jason

| How are you going about this? Have you used the
'Move' option?

| It's a pity you didn't mention the operating system
from the start, isn't it? I believe you can change
it easily if you have TweakUI installed. If you don't
have it installed, either do so, or edit the registry
directly. Which ever path you take, make sure that
you close ALL documents before proceeding.
To change it in the registry (make sure you back
up your registry first), navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre
ntVersion\
Explorer\User Shell Folders
Change the value of "Personal" to point to your
'My Documents', ie: C:\My Documents
