Removing ActiveSync 4.1?
|
|
|
| I upgraded from AS 3.8 to 4.1 without reading the fine print about it
only being for PPC 2005 - didn't work with my PPC 2003SE PDA. So I
uninstalled, then reinstalled AS 3.8 - but it doesn't work. I've been
told that is because AS4.1 leaves some newer files that uninstall
doesn't remove, and installing AS 3.8 will not overwrite them.
Does anyone know how to manually uninstall AS4.1 or have a list of the
files it installs so I can manually go kill them before installing AS 3.8?
thanks,
LT

| Hi,
To uninstall ActiveSync 4.x and reinstall a previous version of ActiveSync
on your computer---
1. Uninstall ActiveSync 4.x.
2. Go to Start -> Run and type:
%systemroot%\System32
Click Ok or enter.
3. Then manually delete the dynamic-link library Rapi.dll and ceutil.dll
4. Reinstall the previous version of ActiveSync.
