Missing Software Media

| Last year I purchased a Dimension 8400. I asked for the Corel WP
Productivity package...basically WP 12. I've been going through the
stuff that came with the machine, and I cannot seem to find any CD with
the program on it. I know I should have been more diligent, but it came
right before the holidays, and what with getting everything set up, and
doing some real work, I never got around to checking everything out.
I'm going to assume (always dangerous) that the media was supposed to be
included, but was left out of the order. If that is the case, how long
do I have to request that a new CD be sent out? I bought in mid-Dec. 2004.
What's the best way to approach this situation?
Thanks.

Seems to me that the WP12 (minimum bundle) has a separate CD, and is not on
the "dell installed backup software" CD.
If you can confirm this, I'd get on the horn and request the CD immediately
from customer service. Use a speaker phone when you call to avoid neck
cramps and ear numbness (if you have that option).

Posts in here have indicated getting replacement CD's (by phone) hasn't been
easy. You might also try posting over on the Dell community forum ( on the
'customer service' board ) before you try calling. The forums there are
actually pretty good as well.
Good luck

| i think you have at best 30 days to request replacement media. now that the
return policy is only 21 days i suspect that this window has also shrunk. i
think i have tons of these cds as dell forces your to buy some software
suite and i usually select the cheapest (word perfect). this software has
been removed from my systems and a site license of other office software
software installed so if you want one of the originals cds that i have then
message me privately.

| ps. a blue and white cd called "wordperfect productivity pack" dell part
number OJ1894 is probably what you are talking about... that is from the one
that came with my home system of about a year ago and likely the same
version of what you have. you can look at your original invoice as it is
probably listed as such on there. i have newer, also unused editions at
work...

| I had a similar experience. I called Dell the day after the shipment arrived
and it still required numerous phone calls and emails over more than a three
month period. .After nearly four months, I received the missing CD.
I wish you luck. I am afraid you might need it.
